Why tea glass engraving is sustainable

A delicious cup of ginger tea; that's what you prefer to drink from an engraved tea glass. Engraving tea glasses for the office, your café or your home: how nice? There are many ways to add a logo to tea glasses. However, engraving is by far the best option. Why is that? Why is engraving tea glasses the best option and how does it work? You can read about it in this blog!

How does engraving tea glasses work?

Engraving tea glasses is a beautiful process! How does it work exactly? We explain it to you step by step. So you know what to expect when buying engraved tea glasses.

Step 1: Design

It all starts with the design, of course. What logo or text would you like to have engraved on the tea glass? What are your wishes? Would you like the logo engraved on two sides of the glass? Or maybe even on the bottom? It's all possible!

Before the order is confirmed, we will send you a digital proof without obligation. This allows you to see what the engraved glass, with your logo or text, will look like. Do you have adjustments? No problem! We will adjust it so that we always meet your wishes. Because you approve the proof, you have the lead; so convenient! Is the proof to your satisfaction? Great! Then the engraving process can begin.

Step 2: Engraving

Once the digital proof is ready and approved, it is uploaded to the engraving machine. There, the tea mugs are placed in the machine. A laser is used to cut the logo from the tea glass. The logo remains in the glass and a small relief is created. The logo has a rough feel and a milky-white/grey look.

Engraving tea glasses can be done in various ways: UV laser engraving, CO2 laser engraving and sandblasting.

CO₂-laser engraving

In this method, a CO₂ laser beam is used to mark the glass surface. The result is a white, matt engraving with a clean and even finish. Thanks to its high speed and precision, CO₂ laser engraving is a popular choice for personalising glassware.

UV laser engraving

This technique uses a shorter-wavelength UV laser, which ensures extremely fine details and engraving without heat formation or damage to the tea glass. UV laser engraving is therefore perfect for detailed logos, thin lines and small areas. The technique is usually slightly slower than CO₂ laser engraving, but produces an even more refined result.

Sandblasting

Sandblasting is a technique in which fine grains, usually sand, are blown onto the glass surface under high pressure. This creates a deep, even matt engraving with a luxurious and high-quality appearance. Thanks to the depth and structure of the engraving, sandblasting is ideal for glassware as well as mugs. Especially when a robust and permanent marking is desired, this method comes into its own. Read more about sandblasting on mugs in our blog on mug engraving.

Step 3: Pack and go

After the tea glasses have been engraved, it's time to pack them. This is done carefully, after all, you shouldn't have the glasses breaking. Once they are packed, they are shipped and you can expect them after 1-2 working days!

What are the benefits of engraving tea glasses?

Engraving tea glasses has many advantages. For a start, an engraved tea glass looks unique and personal. You can add a name or logo, for example. That makes the glass extra special, for example as a gift or for work.

Another advantage is that an engraving does not wear off. Unlike printing, which can fade after a while, an engraving always remains visible. So you can simply use and wash the tea glass often without the design disappearing.

Engraved tea glasses are also useful in cafés, restaurants or offices. They provide a professional and recognisable appearance. Think glasses with the company's logo or a nice quote. This makes drinking tea that little bit more fun and gives a well-groomed impression.

Moreover, engraving allows you to create all kinds of designs, from simple to very detailed. With modern techniques such as CO₂- or UV-laser engraving, even small and precise work is possible, without damaging the glass.

In short: tea glass engraving is not only beautiful, but also practical and durable.

Why engraving is the best option

Safer

Tea glasses are made of toughened glass. Tempered glass can be easily engraved and it looks nice too! Only printing on toughened is a difficult task. Because the tea glasses are toughened, they cannot be baked in the oven. There is then a chance that the glasses will crack into thousands of pieces in the oven or break when the glass is used. This is dangerous and not responsible.

A tea glass can be printed, but then the logo will not be dishwasher safe. Also, the logo can then only be printed in one colour.

Luxury

Besides, an engraving on glass simply looks nice. In addition, an engraving on glass simply looks luxurious. The fine, matt lines give a stylish look that you do not easily achieve with printing. Whether it is a sleek logo, a name or a creative design: engraved tea glasses exude quality. Perfect for catering establishments, offices or as personal gifts.

Will you also opt for engraving?

Engraving tea glasses is a beautiful process. For tea glasses, it is best to opt for engraving. It looks beautiful and the result never disappoints.
