Is glass printing dishwasher safe?

Good question! Glass printing is usually dishwasher safe, but there are some exceptions. This could be due to the glass material or the printing method used to imprint the glass with a logo.
What determines dishwasher resistance?
Dishwasher or rinser
The dishwasher resistance of a print on glasses depends on a number of factors. Firstly, the dishwasher itself: printing on glass in the normal way (transfer printing/screen printing) is dishwasher-proof for at least 500 washes, provided the dishwasher does not contain too hot water and not too chemical soap. The duration of washing is also a factor. A rinser is very hot for a short time, while a dishwasher is slightly less hot for a longer time.
Glass type
In addition, the glass type combined with the printing technique depends on dishwasher resistance. Tempered glass and borosilicate glass cannot be printed in the normal ways (screen printing/transfer printing). They can be printed using 2-component ink, which is not dishwasher-safe. It is better to wash this by hand. Read more about these types of glass in the blogs written about them.
Printing technique
Normal soda-lime glass can be printed simply using transfer printing and screen printing at least 500 washes dishwasher safe. Digital printing is at least 300 washes dishwasher safe.
